Bargain Break on the
English Riviera
13th - 17th February 2023

Torquay is one of Britain’s most famous resorts, situated at the heart of 22 miles of unspoilt coastline, often referred to as the 'English Riviera'. Torbay is blessed with a mild climate, sparkling blue waters, Blue-Flag beaches and extensive attractive gardens that make it a great place to visit at any time. Our journey to Torquay will include a lunchtime stop in Exeter and a visit to the unique Trago Mills.

On our first day out we will visit Buckfastleigh Abbey, a living monastic community. The Abbey is famous for its tonic wine, made from French mistelle fortified wine and Devonian herbs. The whole site was rebuilt by French Benedictines, exiled from France during the Third Republic. Our next stop is Totnes, an historic market town that offers an excellent range of independent retailers sitting on the banks of the River Dart. We will also pay a visit to the beautiful town of Dartmouth at the mouth of the river and one of South Devon’s most enchanting towns.

Our second full day excursion starts with a visit to Brixham, one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK. As well as being home to some of the finest seafood you’ll find, the town is also a great destination for art lovers with numerous art galleries featuring local artists as well as showcasing visiting installations. We will also visit the unique House of Marbles after a lunchtime stop in Newton Abbot .

Our return journey will include a stop at the Otter Garden Centre in Ottery St Mary and a lunchtime stop in Taunton.
